When children start drawing people for the first time at the age of 2/3, they only draw a head with big eyes and 2 sticky legs, no body.
Scientists think this is how very small children perceive adults. At their eye level they first see feet and legs, and when they look up, the child sees a head with big eyes, because the adult bends forward to the child. These drawings are called head-footers.
Everybody started drawing like this, including you.

Het Metafysisch Circus is een heimweecircus, een terugverlangen naar de magie die ons ontglipt is.
In losse scènes zoeken we naar de herinneringen die ons dierbaar zijn. De avonturen van weleer, in een tijd dat fantasie en realiteit nog door elkaar liepen.
Een tijd waarin het nog leek dat de jongleerballetjes als vanzelf in de lucht zweefden. Waarin de vlammen van de brandende hoepel tot de hoogste nok reikten. Het was een tijd waarin iedere poëtische aankondiging van een act een nieuw wonder bracht.
Er is extase over een gelukte en gewaagde stunt en dan weer verwarring omdat we onze zenuwen niet de baas zijn. Soms is er helaas ook verdriet, in ieder circus is er ongeluk en dood, dat is onvermijdelijk.
Maar de show moet hoe dan ook altijd doorgaan.
